What is EMDR?

Helping the brain finish what it couldn't.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) uses gentle, guided bilateral stimulation to help your brain reprocess experiences that got "stuck." Instead of reliving a memory, we help your nervous system file it away, so it loses its emotional charge.

Because EMDR works with beliefs and the body, not only the story, it can reach past, present, and future material alike. That's why it helps with so much more than trauma.

Beyond PTSD

What EMDR can help with

Trauma & PTSD
Processing past wounds, whether single events or complex, layered experiences, so they no longer intrude.
Body image
Softening the harsh beliefs about your body that often took root long before you chose them.
Relationship patterns
Working with the present-day dynamics and reactions that keep showing up in how you relate to others.
Rumination & future worry
Quieting the loops that take up your mental capacity: the over-thinking and the what-ifs about what's ahead.

What to expect

Grounded first, always

We never rush into reprocessing. First we build stabilization and grounding skills, so you have somewhere safe to return to. Only when you're ready do we begin EMDR, and you stay in control of the pace the entire way. You don't have to retell every detail for it to work.

1
Build safety, resourcing, and grounding
2
Identify the target memory or belief together
3
Reprocess with guided bilateral stimulation
4
Integrate a calmer, truer belief about yourself
